Functional physiotherapy focuses on helping children develop the skills they need for everyday activities that matter most to them and their families. By targeting movement patterns used in real-life play, self-care, and community participation, therapy becomes meaningful and goal-driven.
This approach considers the whole body and creates a personalised plan to meet each child’s unique needs, supporting the development of strength, coordination, balance, and agility for activities important to them e.g. rolling, walking, jumping, climbing.
As a mobile service, sessions take place in the child’s natural environments at home, school, or playground, making it easier to integrate exercises into daily routines and enhance the child’s confidence and participation in their real-world settings.
Lauren is a Level I Certified Cuevas Medek Exercises (CME) practitioner, trained by Romanian instructor Adrian Stupinean (CME Level IV).
CME is a dynamic therapy for babies and children with motor delays caused by central nervous system impairments, designed to promote new motor functions and greater independence in activities like sitting, standing, and walking. Lauren uses CME principles to challenge each child safely and effectively, helping them build strength, balance, and confidence.
